Interpreting Portraiture Collections
Families
- Create interpretation that has elements of interest to different ages
- Foster co-operation within the family group and make use of the varied ages - provide text for adults to read aloud and activities for children to do
- If necessary create small, portable interactives that families can borrow, use with the portraits and then return after use
In the Long Gallery at Montacute House in Somerset, jigsaws are kept on the windowsills for children to collect and do in front of the portrait.
